Supermarkets in Denmark

Ads from mostly all supermarkets in Odense landed in our post box. It is an opportunity to introduce them to you.

We have 11 different supermarkets here in Odense. The biggest are Bilka, Føtex, Kvickly and Eurospar, they are similar size as Globus and Tesco in Czech Republic.

Middle size are SuperBrugsen, Fakta and Irma, they are classic supermarkets like Albert or Billa in Czech. Discounts are Lidl, Netto, Rema 1000 and Aldi. Lidl is the most different of them. It offers the most similar goods to that I know from Czech.

Winter in Denmark

Winter in Denmark is very similar to what I know from Prague in Czech Republic. Temperature is several degrees below zero. On the ground there is 5 – 10 cm of snow. If there is snow or not, we are still riding bikes around the city.

There is a difference in the approach of municipality to the snow in Denmark. Municipality takes more care about pavements and bike paths than streets. They are without snow sooner than streets for cars. Municipality uses the machines with the snow removal roller brush in the front instead of the snowplough, so bike paths are completely clean. 

The pavement is clear unlike the road.
